Events - 2008 Summer Calendar There's so much to see and do at Mt Buller all year round. As the weather hots up, cool down on the mountain with some of these great events! Download our Mt Buller summer 2008 calendar. 16 — 17 OCTOBER - Jayco Herald Sun Tour One of the world’s oldest cycling stage races visits Mt Buller for the fourth stage of the competition, seeing competitors climb the 16km Mt Buller Tourist Road as they battle the effects of altitude. 1 — 3 NOVEMBER - Mt Buller Sprint Mt Buller comes alive with the roar of engines as it hosts the High Country’s 8 NOVEMBER - Beautify Buller Help us to preserve our natural alpine environment and keep Mt Buller beautiful. On Beautify Buller day, join one of the many teams that help clear away the litter that is found on the resort’s slopes and around the Village after the winter snow melts. 9 — 11 JANUARY - All Tomorrow’s Parties If you’re a dedicated music fan, then join us for a three day music festival at Mt Buller, featuring a huge line-up of national and international acts. The festival will be jam-packed full of sound and excitement, all located in the best and highest venue in Victoria! 24 — 26 JANUARY - Kids’ Weekend When the school holidays hit, entertain yourself and the kids by heading to 31 JANUARY - Buller Beerfest If you’re a beer connoisseur or just fancy a good drink, check out Mt Buller’s beer festival! The Beerfest sees large breweries joined by some of the finest boutique breweries in the region showcasing their excellent ale. Kick back and enjoy the sunshine and free entertainment at this fun-filled event. 31 JANUARY — 1 FEBRUARY - Victorian Downhill Mountain Biking National Series In Summer, Mt Buller’s chairlifts start turning for a different type of sport – 28 FEBRUARY — 1 MARCH- High Country Cycle Challenge Spend the weekend in heaven and ride like hell at the Holden High Country Cycle Challenge! This 230km road-cycling event sees riders hit various areas in the Mansfield-Mt Buller region, with the most gruelling leg of the challenge being the 16km climb up the Mt Buller Tourist Road. Try it out for yourself and test your physical limits or join the crowd and cheer on the competitors 14 — 15 MARCH - Victorian Downhill Mountain Biking State Series This fast paced event features the most talented riders in the State and will 8 MARCH - Picnic in the Park Celebrate Labour Day Weekend in style in the Mansfield-Mt Buller region. 28 — 29 MARCH - 2009 Interschools Mountain Bike Championships This great mountain biking event sees secondary school kids compete in 10 — 12 APRIL - Mt Buller Easter Art Prize and Exhibition Over the Easter Long Weekend, the resort hosts the industry renowned Mt Buller Art Exhibition, which offers one of the largest art prizes in regional Victoria. 10 — 12 APRIL - Easter Celebrations Enjoy your Easter eggs at Mt Buller over the holiday break. Watch the Village come alive with live entertainment, a miniature yachting regatta, art workshops, traditional chapel services and guest appearances by the Easter Bunny! Kids particularly love searching for tasty treats at the giant Cadbury Easter egg hunt. 13 APRIL - Buller Cup Held on the Abom Downhill Track, the Buller Cup is a bike race that anyone canwin! Each competitor is given two runs down the course and the person with the smallest time difference between the two runs is the winner. Great prizes up for grabs, including a cash prize for first place, so get peddling! |
